Happy Happy Houseplant🪴Mandi Gubler on Instagram: "Before you prune your houseplants you’ll need to know…

What are nodes? Nodes are where leaves, branches, and roots grow from. Look for small bumps along the stems and branches of your plant.

What are internodes? An internode is the space between nodes. You can cut anywhere along the internode when pruning. I like to cut just above the node.

As long as your plant cuttings have a node attached, you can propagate them in water, soil, or moss and they’ll grow into new baby plants. CUTE!

Save this for the next time you grab the shears! Then share it with a plant friend.

Catey Plants on Instagram: "This was probably one of the easiest DIYs I’ve ever done 😆🪴

My words of advice; measure your plate and get the right size plate hanger, or if you already have one be sure to find a plate that’ll fit!

My plate hanger was slightly small for the plate and I just about took an eye out trying to get it on 😂

If y’all need me, I’ll be watering all my hanging plants with ease 😎💚

Happy Happy Houseplant🪴Mandi Gubler on Instagram: "DIY a self-watering planter with me!!

SUPPLIES:

- New planter
- Deep tray or pot for a water reservoir
- Diamond tip ceramic drill bit
- Painter’s tape
- Cotton Rope
- Plant Food

STEP 1: DRILL THE HOLES

Self-watering planters need 3 holes—one for drainage, and two to feed the rope through.

For a more detailed tutorial on drilling the holes comment DRILL below.

STEP 2: SOAK THE ROPE

If you don’t do this before you plant, your self-watering planter may not work properly.

STEP 3: UNPOT THE TREE

I use chopsticks to break up the rootball and loosen the soil.

STEP 4: PREP THE PLANTER

Feed the rope through the two holes on the outer edges. You want a good amount of rope inside so it reaches the rootball.

When ready to add soil to the

Fat Cat Plant Co. on Instagram: "Homemade chunky aroid mix recipe ⤵️

This is the same soil mixture I’ve been using for quite some time now. It really works well for me and all my aroids love it.💚

3 parts coco chips 🥥
3 parts coco coir 🥥
3 parts pumice 🪨
3 parts orchid bark 🪵
1 part worm castings 🪱
1 part activated carbon 🖤

I just measure my “parts” with a scoop, 🍨 but anything you want to measure with will work.

***This is what works for me in my environment. Everyone’s temps 🌡️, sunlight ☀️, and humidity 💦 levels are different, so your water retention is going to vary. All of these factors effect how fast your soil will dry out. 💨 Water retention in this mixture is mainly related to the amount of coco coir 🥥, so this and/or watering frequency may need to be adjusted acco

Recipe ⤵️

🪩 orchid bark x 3
🪩 pumice x 3
🪩 coco chips x 3 (I add these sometimes for extra chunkiness)

A few years ago, I made my own succulent soil and it was time to do it again. Now this time, we had a huge rain/ice storm move through and all the bags of sand were frozen together so I used poultry grit instead. The poultry grit I used was insoluble crushed granite and I really love the texture and overall appearance that it gave my homemade succulent soil. So, here are the three succulents that I gifted myself for Christmas. I thought the two on the ends seemed big for their pots s…
