What I used: 1/2” white oak plywood ripped to 16” deep 1/2” plywood strips ripped to 1 1/2” 2x2s for extra support 1x3 oak boards Angle brackets for support Wood glue, brads and screws • Start by staining all your wood that is cut to rough dimensions • Use half inch strips of plywood along the back and sides of your shelf location and tack in with a nail gun -Here’s the major SUPPORT TRICK- • Use angle brackets attached through the studs to create extra support and strength throughout the length of your shelf • For additional strength attach 2x2s to all remaining studs using a pocket hole • Carefully install the lower shelf board with glue and clamps then secure with a nail gun • Face the shelves with the pre-finished 1x3s that are cut to the exact length and glue and nail in place Comment BUILD and I’ll send you a detailed supply list on how to make these beautiful and sturdy shelves!
