"Decorated" Inducted into the NZ Wine Hall of Fame, 2014 - Larry McKenna of Escarpment Vineyard, Martinborough, is the winemaker who introduced New Zealand to quality Pinot Noir. And in doing so helped Martinborough become known as Pinot Noir country.  A succession of outstanding wines and show success in the second half of the 1980s established his Martinborough Vineyard label and cemented the belief that Pinot Noir could be a winner for the New Zealand industry.
