Here are all the good and wonderful events that happen in Whanganui in the month of May :):):).
The Glass Factory "Introduction To Kiln Glass" Date: 18th of May Time: 10am Location: The Glass Factory @ 21 Kings Avenue, Whanganui. Come on down to The Glass Factory and make a coloured glass tile, two slumped glass bowls and glass brooches. David will demonstrate the basics of fusing, slumping, using coloured glass pieces, powders and frits and kiln firing. The workshop is suitable for those with no or little prior glass experience.

Whanganui Film Society "10 Canoes"  Date: 26th of May Time: 7pm Location: Davis Lecture Theatre @ Whanganui Regional Museum on Queens Park Memorial, Whanganui.  The Whanganui Film Society are showcasing "10 Canoes" as their feature film tonight. Ten Canoes is a ground-breaking glimpse into aboriginal life centuries before European settlement. A parable of forbidden love from Australia's mythical past with storytelling by Australian icon David Gulpilil.

Plunket Wanganui "The Peggy Project"   Date: 28th of May  Time: 10:30am  Location: Gonville Cafe Library @ 46 Abbot Street Gonville, Whanganui.  Plunket Wanganui have a fantastic project happening at the Gonville Cafe Library, "The Peggy Project". This wonderful project is about knitting squares for Whanganui babies and will be an on going event every Wednesday. So get your groove on, your knitting fingers together and help support a really good cause.

River City Hoopers  Date: 26th of May Time: 7pm Location: River City Hoopers @ 42 Bedford Avenue Gonville, Whanganui  The River City Hoopers are a diverse group of people who get together once a week to hula hoop and socialise. Everyone is welcome to join us! No experience is necessary. There is a small cost of $5 per session. Bring your own hoop, or use one of ours. So why not come on down tonight and have some fun :):):).

Whanganui Film Society "Eureka"   Date: 19th of May  Time: 7pm  Location: Davis Lecture Theatre @ Whanganui Regional Museum on Queens Park Memorial, Whanganui.  The Whanganui Film Society are showcasing "Eureka" as their feature film tonight. This film is surely one of the strangest films ever produced by a major Hollywood studio, Roeg’s wild, mystical epic stars Gene Hackman as a grizzled prospector who lives out his life in a luxurious exile after striking it rich in the Yukon goldfields.

The Sarjeant Gallery Te Whare O Rehua Whanganui is presenting a wonderful display "Corrugations". Corrugations is a significant exhibition celebrating three decades of work by Kiwi sculptor Jeff Thomson.

Te Ora Hou "Break Away"  Date: 28th of May Time: 10am Location: Te Ora Hou @ 32 Totara Street, Whanganui.  Te Ora Hou have a FREE school holiday programme "Break Away" for youths aged between 11 years and 17 years old. This programme includes skating, movies, horse riding, sports, paintball, cooking and much much more.

Schola Sacra Choir & Youth Chorus "From Darkness to Light 1"  Date: 24th of May Time: Start 7:30pm and Finish 9:30pm Location: Christ Church Anglican Church @ 243 Wicksteed St, Whanganui.  ‘From Darkness to Light 1’ will portray the contrasts of Easter with a journey from grief and sadness to unbounded joy. The concert will be enfolded with the combined choirs singing in procession, opening with a Ukrainian Halleluiah and closing with an Austrian Song of Farewell.
