Hinetitama by Robyn Kahukiwa. This book 'Wahine Toa' by Patricia Grace and illustrated by Robyn, was a huge influence on me and many others. The article says that it was a 'feminist reading of traditional Maori mythology'. What the book actually does is reinstate atua wahine in their proper place. Colonialism + christianity filtered retellings of Maori stories led to a disappearance of all our atua wahine and tipuna wahine over the last 160 years.
