Hokitika River Mouth, Aerial View, Hokitika

Former Governments Building in Sewell Street close to the river. The foundation stone for this building was laid in 1908 and half of the building was completed immediately. The other half was built some years later.

Hokitika 1942.

Hokitika streets running east-west from the river in the south are Gibson Quay, Weld Street, Stafford Street and Hampden Street. Cass Square is between Weld and Stafford Streets in the centre distance.

Important Airways Development - Cook Strait Airways' Service to Hokitika

As early as October 1934 the still unregistered Cook Strait Airways was planning an air service between Wellington and Hokitika.
