Geometry Shape Books and Pattern Block Art

I wanted to do a few fun projects to go along with our geometry unit in math. We wrote little mini books called "My Geometry Book of Shapes.

This lesson explores identifying lines of symmetry and drawing lines of symmetry and is directly aligned with 4th grade Common Core Standards. The lesson includes a read aloud, art activity, worksheet with key, and alphabet symmetry activity. This is one lesson that is part of the 4th Grade Geometry Unit but it can be taught as an individual lesson.Link-4th Grade Geometry UnitHere are some other great intermediate resources to check out:Link-4th Grade Geometry AssessmentLink-5th Grade…

Fall project Good use of symmetry in shape, color, and lines. (Alt. fold square into 1/4s, trace leaf onto all 4 quads. Outline over & over in multi-colors?)

Here's a page on finding and drawing lines of symmetry.

A line of symmetry is the exact middle of a shape. Your child gets practice drawing lines of symmetry on each shape in this math worksheet.

Lines of symmetry, polygons - Worksheets & Activities

Audience: Fourth Grade. Behavior: identify and draw lines of symmetry in shapes and figures Condition: worksheet activity. I would use this as independent practice. Students would use a ruler to draw the line or lines of symmetry for each shape.
