The Mosaic Table is a commission for e11even restaurant in downtown Toronto. The 14' communal table is composed of antique hemlock that was buried below York Street for over a century as a part of the historic Conner’s Wharf. While below ground, the hemlock timbers absorbed the vivid green and red mineral tones in the lakefront soil. The surface is assembled from nearly 300 off-cuts that were individually cut and joined. The legs are made of hot-rolled, partially oxidized steel.
