These are my final outcomes for my 'Hidden Identity' part 3 art and design Foundation Course project. I explored the theme of hidden identity and how people can lose their identity if they become part of a crowd or, in this case a riot.

In this amazing piece, a silhouette of a face in profile is backstitched with black thread directly onto the page of a book, and then is filled in by cross-stitching over the individual letters! Some of the words outside of the image have been cross-stitched out, letter by letter, in white, but in other places, the text is left unaltered so it is obvious that the entire artwork is using a book page as its substrate.
