Start by sniffing a few non-fruiting raspberries canes close to the base then carefully remove all of the leaves in the top flimsy section. These can be dried and saved for making a medicinal and tasty tea. The next step is to scrape off all of the soft outer skin with a blunt knife. Then make an incision down the length of the cane. If it's summer and the canes are fresh the inner fibres should be easy to peel. And super easy to split into nice thin pieces for coding. Once your fibres are dry and you feel like twisting them up simply spray with a little water. One to add to the Cordridge collection.

A positive is that I’ve many dried iris leaves ready for weaving. #cordage #cordagemaking #iris #irisleaves #naturalfibers #naturalfibres #foraged #foragedfrommygarden #foragedfibres #foraged_from_nature"
