This image from the 1920s, is created using simplistic colours; this is most likely due to the era in which it was produced as there was limited media available to experiment with. The painting contains a lot of detail on the garment and minimal detailing on the face. I prefer a fashion illustration to be created in this way; with the garment as the primary focus.
