Java moss (Vesicularia dubyana)
Cool tank setup with java moss for your betta. (Add salt at a rate of: 1Tbsp per 5 gallon/There are 3 teaspoons in 1 tablespoon.) So only add about a 1/2 - 3/4 teaspoon per gallon, 1/4 teaspoon for a small tank or bowl. This will prevent numerous diseases. I was surprised to find that many of the treatments for Betta ailments involved a salt bath. Adding a small amount of salt at each cleaning will prevent many of these conditions. Salt can kill some plants.
