Considering our vehicle needs to be more light weight on not heavy, a lot of people still want massive fire power, thinkin' of the .50 that gets loaded into HMGs, those things are massive and weigh too much, so a 5.56 NATO type gun will work much more efficiently, plus a lot of different rifles use these rounds, such as the M16, FN2000 Steyr and the HK 416, thus giving you a variety of options to choose from.

When we're talking about armoured vehicles, nothing comes into my mind like the classic 'murican HMMWV. What's so good about it is not the M2HB on top, but the clever design on the armour, it uses spaced armour and angled walls, making the projectiles travel through more of the armour in order to reach the inside.

If you're really looking for MASSIVE fire power, Gordon would probably recommend the GAU-8, but let's be real, that's too unrealistic. Why not just a Bofors? It's literally automatic artillery.

If you really want a firearm on your vehicle, the standard is an M2HB QCB, but it is incredibly heavy because of it's massive bullets, so just stick with a M16A4 converted into a light machine gun.
