New app Kura has gone live and aims to change the way New Zealanders learn te reo Māori. Developed by Victoria University’s Faculty of Education, it includes a range of games modules that allow users to improve their knowledge and understanding of the Māori language. Users are timed and can pit their skills against others via a scoreboard. It's available for Android on Google Play and iOS on Apple’s iTunes Store.
Epson visualisers (www.epson.co.nz/products/visualisers/) can zoom in on intricate details. Also known as a document camera, they can be used in a classroom to share books, 3D objects, and detailed demonstrations or experiments. Just connect up to a projector, monitor or IWB to project and enlarge any object onto a large screen display.
