A great find! This antique oil lamp from the Orissa Tribe near India said, "Neckpiece" to me as soon as I saw it. The primitive mood allowed me to use a few of the ancient beads which are my treasures. The two large are ceramic from the Indus Valley Dig, as are also the two tiny turquoise blocks - circa 3000-1000 B.C. The two above them, shell, are most likely money from the ancient Silk Road trade. All four of the bronze shapes are antiques from the Baoule Tribe, Africa.So are all of the beads that make up the earrings except the drops, which are from the Kond Tribe near India. And across the back, to make wearing the piece comfortable, I've alternated antique African brass with Ch'ing Dynasty carnelian.
