A bit of history on breeze blocks: Breeze or screen block exploded onto the architectural scene in the late 1950s (propelled by architect Edward Durell Stone), reached its peak at the 1964 New York World's Fair. The use of the blocks started to decline in the 1970's but are seeing a resurgence in both interior and exterior use.
