Daily Character Trait Discussions and Restorative Circleson Cooperation Editable

Engage your students in character-building discussions around the character trait of Cooperation. Guide your students into an understanding of what cooperation is, and how to cooperate. Allow students to reflect on issues they are having in school and at home, and what to do when someone else is not showing the qualities of cooperation. Ultimately, you are helping your students become more aware of the importance of having good character through discussion and reflection. Gather in your whole group circle first thing in the morning to start the day off right and guide daily choices and actions in a thoughtful, caring direction OR end your day with discussions around what went on during the day, to reflect on what could be done differently the next day. You could even do a combination of both! Also included in this bundle is a set of restorative questions. There may be times when your character trait discussions may need to turn into a restorative circle when issues arise and some harm has been done. The restorative questions will help guide your students through the process of repairing that harm. This resource contains 4 weeks of discussion and reflection. Each unit comes with: ♦ A definition of the character trait ♦ Guided questions for discussion ♦ Scenarios for discussion or acting out ♦ Small pages for individual student use ♦ Reflection pages ♦ Editable pages ♦ Restorative questions The sets come in three varieties so you can choose which sets work best for you and your students. They are: • large color copies (to be displayed on the projector for the whole class to see) • small color copies (to be given to students) • black and white copies (of both large and small sets) Ownership of Learning All sections of this resource can be used by students to take ownership of their own learning. Students can process on their own, writing down their own thoughts and feelings. Print them out for students to use them in a: ♥ Journal ♥ Literacy center ♥ Quick write It's Editable! This resource includes an editable page in both color and black and white. This way you have the option to make the discussion questions and scenarios a little more personal to your teaching style or needs based on the groups of students you have from year to year. Please note that the fonts are the same, but there is only one font size per box, so you may need to adjust the number of characters you use as needed.
