Aside from the attractions in Paris, the Mont Saint Michel is the most visited tourist attraction in France. The massive edifice sits on its own island, and not only includes a castle, but an entire city. Read more on Avenly Lane Travel!
Mont Saint-Michel, a tiny (population: 44!) rocky island in the Normandy region of France. Although I'm glad I visited, I do regret eating the "famous" but overpriced and underwhelming omelets found here. There was construction when I visited (in May 2013) to add another paved lane of traffic going to and from the island.
