I don't believe in counting calories.  I think the focus should be on overall long-term health.  When you consume lots of fresh vegetables and low-glycemic fruit, a moderate amount of lean protein, healthy fats and healthy whole grains, you're palate will begin to change and you'll be able to make better, satisfying food choices without needing to count calories.  Take out the junk and invite the abundance in.
