Thelonious Monk, from the Jazz Loft Project, by W. Eugene Smith

I like the mysterious and elegant elements of this photograph. It is not just a simple, black-and-white picture. (W. Eugene Smith, “Lee Raney,” c. 1957-1965, Collection of the W. Eugene Smith Archive, Center for Creative Photography, The University of Arizona and The Heirs of W. Eugene Smith.)

Eugene Smith. Most of Smith's work that I have seen are of his WWII photos, which are more graphic and tell more than this photo. What I like about this photo, is that it makes you feel uncomfortable because of the bird's eye perspective, and the ambiguity of the photo. Even though it is not graphic like a lot of his other photos, it is still eerie and dark.

Iluminacion/ I knew there was a way for it to feel like Christmas year round!

Theolonious monk -- I wish I was in this era! The love that people put into their music would be amazing to watch! I wish there were jazz places still around with people who still understand the feeling of music when played.
