Torch Lake is the longest lake (19 miles long) and second largest lake (18,770 acres) in Michigan. It is 17 miles NE of Traverse City and is separated by land from both Grand Traverse Bay on the NW & Elk Lake at the SW end. Its waters are unusually clear & exhibit a bright turquoise hue, resembling Caribbean waters. It has a max depth of 285 ft & an average depth of 111 ft, making it Michigan's deepest inland lake. Its famous sandbar.
How serene. After relaxing on the beach, take a walk down the sandbar path to the island to fight off creatures that probably want to eat you! (Just kidding) Just another awesome place to explore in Fiji.
The Sandbar on Anna Maria Island, Florida is the best place to catch a casual lunch while sunbathing on white sand beaches. I love riding my bike to the store and the small island feel...can't wait to go back!
