EAST ST LOUIS RIOTS--On July 2, 1917, Angry white mobs stopped trolleys and streetcars, pulling black passengers out and beating them on the streets and sidewalks. They set fire to the homes of black residents who had to choose between burning alive in their homes, or run out of the burning houses, only to be met by gunfire. In other parts of the city, African Americans were lynched against the backdrop of burning buildings.
Day 4 - Morehead City, NC Morehead City is a popular port along the Intracoastal Waterway and is always bustling with boat activity and excitement. There are plenty of interesting shops to browse in Morehead or you can tour the meticulously restored town of Beaufort, just across the Newport River. Beaufort is the third oldest town in North Carolina and has a 21-block historic district that includes a boardwalk lined with boats on one side and unique shops perfect for browsing .
Cape Spear, Newfoundland. Most eastern point of North America. The oldest surviving lighthouse in Newfoundland and Labrador is located at the most easterly point of land in North America . The lighthouse there has been restored to its 1839 appearance and shows how a lightkeeper and his family might have lived in the mid-19th century.
The Dotson School is one of the abandoned rural schoolhouses in Grainger County named to the East Tennessee Preservation Alliance's 2012 Endangered Heritage list. Used for hay storage and other agricultural uses since closing, the school is in good condition and could be restored as a home or business. (East Tennessee Preservation Alliance)

The Château still features most of the characteristics of defensive military architecture from the Middle Ages, though it underwent major restoration in the 19th century.
