Hungerburgbahn funicular railway station, Innsbruck, Austria - Why climb from the city center of Innsbruck, Austria, up to the Hungerburg district (aka Upper Innsbruck) in the Nordkette Mountains when you can instead board the hybrid funicular railway that does the climbing for you? The updated rail opened in 2007 and features the Hungerburg station designed by renowned architect Zaha Hadid. Her concept for the station was to emulate the snow and glaciers of the surrounding peaks.
