Passengers walk past a portrait of Vladimir Lenin, one of the founders of the Soviet Union, in the Biblioteka Imeni Lenina metro station in Moscow. Lenin died on January 21st 1924 at Gorki Leninskiye, his datcha located just south of the capital. The metro station is one of the original 13 opened in Moscow in May 1935.
