$3 This assignment is titled "Let's Explore the Middle East! Use a Map to Find Countries, Cities, Landforms, and Bodies of Water." This assignment includes 20 questions that require students to analyze a map of the Middle East for national borders, capital cities, landforms, and bodies of water. Here are two sample questions: "In which country is Mount Demavend located?" and "Name at least three countries that border the Red Sea."
I love this book! It is great to teach kids where they are in the world. It starts in their bedroom and has maps at progressively smaller scales (zooming out) from their house, neighborhood, town, state, country, the world!
A great geography lesson that encourages children to use creativity and figure out where the food they ate came from. So many ways you can alter this activity- have students be given a profile of a person and their basic food likes. Find at least 5 countries where you can find food that he or she will like.
