Sapphire and diamond bandeau tiara by Mellerio circa 1870. Of kokoshnik design, composed of seven graduated rose-cut diamond-set lozenge clusters, each with a central oval sapphire within rose-cut diamond border with diamonds, mounted in silver and yellow gold, the central cluster detachable to form a brooch.
I called this piece Waiting for Spring. It is a bright green Labradorite, bezel set in fine silver. I wanted to make it look like a bud, just about to unfold and the stone is the life within, waiting for spring.--Lisa Barth
