Drecoll was a major Parisian house during the early 20th century. This dress reflects an interest in historicism; the empire style and embroidery evoke the neoclassical fashions of the Napoleonic era.

Circa 1905 House of Gustav Beer ensemble. In 1905 the German fashion designer opened a couture house in Paris at Place Vendôme, where he produced feminine dresses and lingerie. In 1929 the House of Beer merged with House of Drecoll.
