August 23rd - Day 87 - Another bountiful harvest this Saturday! From the top: grape tomatoes, cayenne peppers, bell pepper, miniature corn, roma tomatoes and yellow pear heirloom tomatoes. Time to make a huge batch of tomato sauce tomorrow!
Harvest Time - July 31st - Day 64 - The abundance of the farm's bounty is finally making it off the plants and onto the table. Pictured here: Roma tomatoes, grape tomatoes, sweet basil, green beans, a Romanian sweet pepper (yellow, top center), a huge Cherokee Purple heirloom tomato (purple red, top right), one tiny jalapeno, 3 tiny sweet onions, 3 gorgeous cayenne peppers, a tiny Yellow Pear heirloom cherry tomato (with the grape tomatoes), dill flowers and culinary lavender.
August 8th - Day 72 - The cayenne peppers are continuing to flourish and every couple of days, another handful is ready to pick and enjoy. The red ones here are destined to become part of a spicy marinade for a weekend meal of grilled veggies. The green ones will need to ripen and will eventually be used for chili infused olive oil!
August 15th - Day 79 - Friday afternoon micro-harvest: orange bell pepper, Roma tomatoes, grape tomatoes, yellow pear heirloom tomatoes, cayenne peppers and a large bunch of parsley (destined for the tabbouleh in a homemade Lebanese feast tomorrow night)
August 23rd - Day 87 - The bumper crops of cayenne peppers continues! Time to start working on some chili infused olive oils to enjoy throughout the winter months and preserve the spicy goodness for many meals to come.
August 12th - Day 76 - More gorgeous cayenne peppers ripening on the vine! These plants have produced an insane amount of fruit so far this year and show no signs of slowing down. There will be plenty to dry and crush, as well as add into bottles for infused olive oils!
July 15th - Day 48 - The cayenne peppers are crazy healthy and on the vine in abundance. Beautiful fruits and plants... can't wait for them to start turning crimson red.
