'Carol' - cate blanchett & rooney mara I love the intensity and the uncertainty of this moment; the way it makes Therese falter at the piano, that expression on Carol's face that she knows this is forbidden, that it's gotten her in trouble in the past, but its who she is and she wants it. Too many feelings!
Columbia Pictures was one of the Little Two, i.e. the smallest of the major studios (the other one was Universal). Those two didn't own large numbers of theaters. Gable and Colbert didn't want to go there to make a film. Gable was forced by MGM and Colbert went with trepidation and double her usual salary.
