Awarded Silver Star & Purple Heart. Football linebacker. Arizona Cardinals 1998-2001. After the 9-11 attack he turned down an offer of over one million dollars a year for three years from the Cardinals to enlist in the Army.

He joined the Army Rangers and served several tours in combat before he died in the mountains of Afghanistan. The Army at first reported that Tillman had been killed by enemy fire... The actual cause of Tillman's death was later ruled... as friendly fire.
