Union Station in Kansas City MO was a restored 1914 train station and is now home to shops, restaurants, Science City interactive science museum, a model railroad exhibit, an IMAX theater, a planetarium, an exhibit on the history of the American railroad and more.
1938 - The notorious Chesterfield Club was a famous Pendergast sin place. Located only one block from the federal courthouse downtown, it served as a daily reminder of who actually ran KC. To judges and lawmen of the U.S., it seemed a deliberate affront to conventional morality. Even though common practice for appearance sake called for confining gambling to back rooms, at the Chesterfield Club roulette wheels and dice tables greeted patrons the moment they walked through the front door.
