A Cheetah mom at Burgers’ Zoo in the Netherlands has her paws full with a litter of six frisky cubs. Born September 14, the cubs have spent the last few months behind the scenes in their den, just as they would in the wild. They recently explored outdoors for the first time.
Set in the rolling hills of the Uwharrie Mountains just south of Asheboro, the North Carolina Zoo is the largest walk-through natural-habitat zoo in the country and features more than 500 acres, five miles of trails and 1,600 animals. Connect with wildlife from two different continents as you from Africa’s grasslands to North America’s Arctic coast. It also has fun gift shops and three on-site restaurants serving burgers, sandwiches and salads.
