This hanfu reconstruction was a popular attire during the Song Dynasty (960-1279). The model wears a ru qun (襦裙): a top with narrow and lengthy sleeves, and a skirt with hexagon patterns (called “turtle shell | 龟背纹” in Chinese), with a turquoise scarf (pi-bo | 披帛) draped over her shoulder. This slim look was the beauty standard of women’s clothing in Song China – courtesy of the reconstruction group of traditional Chinese clothing and styles (中國古代裝束復原小組）#culture
I quite like the light and loose look of this particular clothing. It has made me consider the material that I should try to recreate in my sketches and animation. I also like the colours as I believe they would represent my "light" character quite well.
