Tokyo Ghoul's original manga/comicbook cover has the same dark and brooding tones at the televised version. Ishida has used watercolour techniques on a computer software to create the picture, most likely scanning in a sketch or drawing beforehand as a skeleton to work over and layer. The palette is mostly dark blues and greyscale, but fleshy, blood reds used for detailings that draw the eye.
