Powered by 2 Rolls-Royce Merlins,was ast as fighter & could carry payload of medium bomber.Flying high & fast,believed could perform without defensive armament. In a display of incredible foresight, deH constructed almost entirely out of balsa & plywood in case strategic metals scarce.Air Ministry originally rejected due to wooden construction.Wooden Wonder returned.
