Edward Leighton. I've always loved this painting, but the details are all wrong/romanticized. Have to find out when it was painted. It looks like post-Victoria, but is intending to depict Regency era. Maybe one of them's a time traveler. Awkward. Whatevs.

SELF PORTRAIT: Zinaida Serebriakova, oils, 1909. Despite being more than a hundred years old, this portrait seems very fresh and contemporary. Change the washbowl in the background to a computer screen and it could be any young woman at her "toilette". What objects can you include in a self portrait that tell the viewer something about you?
