This is the holiday project for my Boy's and Girl's Club Beginning Embroidery class this Fall at the Community Center in Half Moon Bay. It is a design based on the use of gingham fabric. The technique is called Chicken Scratch or Depression Lace. It is a great technique for the beginner as the fabric is a friendly place and where to place you needle is not a panic inducing puzzle. When you are finished you have a holiday ornament to bring back memories each year when you hang it on the tree.
