Aurora over Finnish Lapland "We got to witness a wonderful Aurora display last night on our aurora-safari here in Rovaniemi, Finnish Lapland...The two previous nights were bit cloudy, but it was still possible to see the green light shining through. But luckily yesterday the skies properly cleared for the weekend and we managed to witness probably the last bit of the minor geomagnetic storm that has been blowing now for 3 days already.

golden stars of the old stellar cluster Trumpler 5. As they grow old, open star clusters begin to lose their Identity, this is partly due to the fact that the most brilliant members tend to self-destruct as supernovas, and although the members of the group share a common movement through space, they are weakly united. Thus, stars move away from the cluster in a process that accelerates over time.

Composed of 8 exposures of 120 seconds in each LRGB channel. What we see is the reflection nebula M78, just as it was captured by the telescope's cameras, unprocessed. "Captured from the backyard of my new home in Colorado, I'm very impressed with the high sensitivity of the 4/3-inch CMOS sensor and the level of detail I got with exposures of only 2 minutes."
