Mitchell A. Orenstein is S. Richard Hirsch Associate Professor of European Studies at Johns Hopkins University, Paul H. Nitze School of Advanced International Studies in Washington, DC.  Starting in August 2012, he will assume a new position as Professor and Chair of the Department of Political Science at Northeastern University in Boston.    Professor Orenstein is a scholar of international politics focusing on the political economy of transition in Central and Eastern Europe.
