NATIONAL BUTTERCRUNCH DAY � January 20 - National Buttercrunch Day is celebrated annually on January 20th. Today celebrates this toffee candy. Buttercrunch is a combination of toffee, covered with chocolate. It has a crunchy texture and a caramel flavor. Variations on the recipe include toasted almond sprinkles.
NATIONAL SPAGHETTI DAY – January 4 - The long, thin cylindrical pasta of Italian and Sicilian origin which is made of semolina or flour and water, known as spaghetti and loved by millions has it’s own special day. January 4th is National Spaghetti Day and is observed annually across the country.
NATIONAL ARGYLE DAY – January 8 - Deriving from the tartan of Clan Campbell, of Argyll in western Scotland, the argyle pattern used for kilts and plaids and from the patterned socks (known as “tartan hose”) worn by Scottish Highlanders since at least the 17th century, is recognized and honored each year on January 8th on National Argyle Day.
NATIONAL BOBBLEHEAD DAY is celebrated annually on January 7. Bobbleheads have been around for over 100 years and are found in different shapes and sizes. However, none are more popular than those that depict athletes, professional sports teams, mascots, cartoon characters, and celebrities. The National Bobblehead Hall of Fame and Museum was announced on November 18, 2014. The museum will open in 2016 in Milwaukee, Wisconsin and will house the world’s largest collection of bobbleheads.
NATIONAL CREAM-FILLED CHOCOLATES DAY � February 14 - Chocolate lovers rejoice as February 14th is National Cream-Filled Chocolates Day! On a day when heart-shaped boxes are filled with bite-sized chocolates with ooey, gooey centers, quite a few of these cream-filled goodies will be exchanged and shared on this holiday.
December 13th is National Cocoa Day! This holiday celebrates all the uses of "Cocoa" but most information about this holiday relates it to the hot cocoa drink. So on National Cocoa Day make good use of that container of dry cocoa in your cabinet and make yourself a nice hot cup of homemade cocoa.
September 5th is International Day of Charity - To honor the important work that these charities do worldwide, in 2012 the United Nations decided to nominate an annual International Day of Charity as an official day of recognition and celebration. The reason the date was chosen is because it is the anniversary of the death of Mother Teresa of Calcutta.
November 21th is World Television Day - The first World Television Forum was staged by the United Nations in the mid ’90s, and it was out of this event that World Television Day was born. The forum brought together leading figures from the media industry to analyze the growing impact that TV had on decision-making and public opinion when it comes to issues of peace and security around the planet.
