New store openings are always an exciting time! For 86 years we have been hosting Grand Openings to introduce customers to our Publix family. This was the grand opening for Publix Store #105 in Ft. Myers, Florida. This store opened on April 3, 1986.

Mr. George, Publix’s founder, had a passion for involvement within his local communities. This picture was taken while George Jenkins was presented with a token of appreciation from the Boy Scouts. Lawrence, the scout featured to the right, went on to start a career with Publix and still works for our company today!
