Omar Little (Michael K. Williams), "The Wire" (2002) Even on the dark HBO drama "The Wire," Omar Little had an edge. He was known to carry a shotgun around the mean streets of Baltimore, and young and old alike scattered when they heard him whistling "The Farmer in the Dell." The notorious drug lord hunter was careful to rob only people who were in "the game."
Born a premature crack baby, weighing only 3 pounds to two incarcerated drug addicts and raised in an East Baltimore foster home, actress Felicia "Snoop" Pearson wasn't expected to live. She is best known for playing "Snoop" on the HBO series The Wire. Her murdered friend gave her the nickname Snoop because she reminded him of Snoopy from Peanuts. Pearson met actor Michael K. Williams (Omar from The Wire), who invited her to the set & introduced her to writers/producers, leading to her role.
There are many, many things I love about The Wire (not for nothing have so many critics called it the best show on television), but Michael Kenneth Williams takes the cake. Anyone who can top Idris Elba AND Dominic West in my book must really have some charisma.
