Myrna Loy 1930's (1905-1993, born Myrna Williams ) - Known in her time as ‘The First Lady of Film.'  Stage debut at the age of 12, in a dance piece called 'The Blue Bird', also appearing in local stage productions to support her family. She began to regularly appear at the famous Grauman's Theatre in Hollywood, where Rudolph Valentino's wife spotted her. Impressed, she helped her land some film parts. Made over 120 pictures, including all six of the Thin Man movies.

One of my absolute favorites...What makes a "favorite"?  Maybe it was the way she carried herself: with confidence and grace..it was a "signature" walk. Maybe because she always played bold, strong parts, like she was in  real life...even tho' she was very petite..5'31/2".
