The Pachypodium AKA Madagascar Palm is not a Palm, but more closely related to Cacti.  One of my favorite plants, be careful of the spines.  Goes completely dormant when brought inside for winter (normal to drop all leaves).  Water VERY sparingly (once a month at most) until it is time to go back outside.  As soon as new growth appears, it can be watered daily and enjoys FULL sun for best growth.  Try one, you will love watching the progress from year to year!

Awesome Furcraea foetida 'Mediopicta' (I think)  there on the left, with a sparse (hard grown?) but blooming Aloe pilcatilis at the top center.  In these coastal conditions the Aloe should fatten up in time
