LaWanda Page (born Alberta Peal), actress & comedian. She is best known as Aunt Esther ("Watch it, Sucka!") on Sanford and Son. She began her career in show business working small nightclubs, billed as "The Bronze Goddess of Fire," an act which included her eating fire and lighting cigarettes with her fingertips (which she performed once on the show). She also appeared in Amen, Martin, 227, Family Matters, Diff'rent Strokes, Church's Chicken commercials, RuPaul's debut album and Friday…

This marinade is great to soften up any venison (or meat) for prefect grilling. I got this recipe from the Sanford family 5 5

Tender, juicy stuffed chicken breasts smothered in a creamy mushroom sauce. The components come together to create a harmony that is music to your mouth.

Crock Pot Chicken Cacciatore. Photo by Sanford and Sons. Easy and fairly tasty, but not like traditional chicken cacciatore.

Chicken Burgers- ADD diced apple, pears & brie chz...yum! Maybe with a sweet/spicy drizzle? Gotta try!

Sanford and Son: LaWanda Page Perhaps one of the show's most memorable characters was the ultra-religious, stern Aunt Esther, Fred's sister-in-law, played by LaWanda Page. Page released a stand-up comedy album and appeared on a few TV shows after "Sanford and Son," like "The Love Boat," "Amen," and "Family Matters." She also made appearances in films like "Friday" and appeared in a series of Church's Chicken commercials. She died in 2002 at the age 81.
