William Pickering designed a couple famous books. First, "The Book of Common Prayer" (1844) - was made during the industrial revolution. Pickering was in favor of establishing a close relationship between a printer and a designer. Also made "The Elements of Euclid" (1874) from woodblock prints. He rose above the standard of production of books at the time. Paved the way for arts and crafts artists to go from there.
