Notting Hill, 1999. Comedy | Romance. IMDb Rating: 6.9/10. Metascore: 66/100 (based on 33 Critics' Reviews from http://www.metacritic.com/movie/notting-hill )... "The life of a simple bookshop owner in London changes when he meets the most famous film star in the world."
A transitional moment? In 1998 this movie turned a 1940s classic (The Shop Girl) into what was then a technologically savvy RomCom. Fast forward to 2013 and Scott Stratten changes the communications landscape as he turfs email for the benefits of interactive, real-time conversations that include following, liking, re-tweeting, pinning and sharing by (and to) thousands of potential consumers around the world.
Serendipity. Another joint favorite great movie introduced to me with the bullsh!t happy ending I was promised. This movie was used to sell me on the "one person" concept. Again, why didn't the movie tell us what happened to the girl that John Cusack dumped? Because people don't care what happens to the wreckage left behind.
