keruing plywood faces the cabinetry in the kitchen and adjacent dining area, as well as a feature living room wall, in this project by Craig & Coltart Architects. A skylight and windows front and back ensure the kitchen has ample natural light.
A seamless floor-to-ceiling glass door separates the business side of one kitchen from the other. The ceiling adds to the space's simple geometric appeal – the dropped ceiling with the custom hood has a reciprocal raised ceiling element in another part of the room.
Extending the room allowed for windows at the sides of the new space. Backless glass shelving in these areas echoes a similar setup in the dining room and provides display space without compromising light penetration.
