March 2nd - Luke 9:22-25: Then he said to all, "If anyone wishes to come after me, he must deny himself and take up his cross daily and follow me. For whoever wishes to save his life will lose it, but whoever loses his life for my sake will save it. What profit is there for one to gain the whole world yet lose or forfeit himself?"

January 27th - Mark 4:1-20: “Hear this! A sower went out to sow. And as he sowed, some seed fell on the path, and the birds came and ate it up. Other seed fell on rocky ground where it had little soil. It sprang up at once because the soil was not deep. And when the sun rose, it was scorched and it withered for lack of roots. Some seed fell among thorns, and the thorns grew up and choked it and it produced no grain. And some seed fell on rich soil and produced fruit.

20 yrs ago one of the most compelling events took place in Olympic history. It wasn't who won, it was who cared. Derek Redmonds dad raced out of the stands to help his injured son finish a heat of the 400m. The image of Jim helping his son finish the race remains one of the fondest memories in Olympic history. Could Derek's father's love for him give us some insight on what it takes to be an "olympic dad"? Check out this post to see.

September 30th - Luke 9:57-62: As Jesus and his disciples were proceeding on their journey, someone said to him, “I will follow you wherever you go.” Jesus answered him, “Foxes have dens and birds of the sky have nests, but the Son of Man has nowhere to rest his head.” And to another he said, “Follow me.” But he replied, “Lord, let me go first and bury my father.” But he answered him, “Let the dead bury their dead. But you, go and proclaim the Kingdom of God.”
