A mask I've worn too well for too long. Talking more about my Lupus/Fibro diagnosis has actually helped me come out of my shell more. Before I didn't want to "bother" anyone, but I've lost friends & family to that type of thinking. I can't anymore
Stopped by an elderly woman as I hung my placard on the mirror. "What do you have a handicap placard for? You are a lot younger than me and you don't LOOK sick!" My response was, "You don't live in this body. You have NO IDEA how I feel!"
